Important Information and Helpful Links
PAT STUFF:  PAT Schedule
  • PAT teachers please remember to keep a seating plan in case of an audit or cheating,
  • Call Richel if a Grade 9 student is absent that you were not expecting to be absent so we can track them down.
  • Kiddos who need Extra time: In much the same way that we pick up kids for accommodations just before lunch we will go to the grade 9 hallway to pick up extra time kids. If there are not too many we can also supervise the 7s and 8s who need extra time. After lunch 7s and 8s should join regular classes, there will be a cut off on how much extra time they can spend writing exams.
  • Washroom station will be set in the G9 hallway, G7 and 8 only one at a time to the washroom, no supervision.
  • May PAT Instruction Document
The Sid Shuffle - If you have time with your homeroom to do a movement break try this video. The year-end assembly plans to use it as a movement break, would be great if the kids were familiar in advance

Bouquets:
  • Huge thank you to everyone for everything that was done to make sure the first round of PATs ran smoothly for our students. Everything went well, and somethings even went better than expected!
  • Big thank you to Denise, the grade 9 team, and the good Samaritan volunteers who labeled the PATs
  • Thanks to all the people who are keeping the PAT accommodations and alternate time document updated ~ very helpful.
  • Big thanks to Jillian for coordinating our first annual BP Indigenous Activities Day
  • Thank you to all staff for your hard work on Report Cards
  • Thanks Jenny for getting food trucks for our 7s and 8s on the 26th
  • Big thank you to everyone for all that you’ve done and will do to keep the place running smoothly for these last two weeks.
  • Thank you to all the folks taking photos of all the wonderful things going on at BP-  to the yearbook team and to Iris for doing twitter!
  • Huge thanks to Jerrie, Karena and Anna for recognizing our wellness work at the Aspen Awards!

As always, thank you for everything you do to support student learning everyday.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! And this week (like most weeks) is pretty busy.  Teacher2Teacher poster a nice reflection this week about how to stay joyful and appreciative beyond this week.  It's pretty thoughtful.

PAT Reminders:
  • On Monday, and again in period one on Tuesday and Thursday, please remind students that should bring work to do for after the exam, ask each student to bring a book as back up just in case they finish everything they bring early.
Non-PAT Exams
  • Natalie, Laura, Mat, and Catherine – can you ensure that all Gr 7 and 8 FLA exams have been copied and are ready for homeroom teachers to distribute (ready for pick up from the staff room).
PAT Information:
  • PAT teachers, you can pick up exams from the vault
  • Once the kids have had their brainstorm time, any students who will be working in the Learning Commons should go quietly wait with Laura near room 19 to all walk to the LC together. Students who have not been marked LC on attendance but request a quiet space are allowed to join this group as well (quietly).
Bathroom Policy
  • We ask that grade 7 and 8 teachers only allow one student to leave to go to the bathroom at a time.
  • For Grade 9 teachers we are asking the bathroom supervisor to set up in the Gr 9 hallway and allow students to use the staff washrooms. We are also requesting the exam supervisor to help out once the exams are up and running smoothly.
  • Maria will be available to relieve teachers who need to go to the washroom.
The resource room and Learning Commons are closed for drop-ins for the full day. Students who are registered in enhancement can go to the resource room to work quietly from Period 5 onward.
